All you need to know – Q&A
You know that you can ask us anything, right? We’ve tried to put together answers to questions we thought you might want to ask! We’re on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, but e-mail is our preferred means of communication.
How will my order travel to me?
We despatch our orders via Zásilkovna.cz (Packeta.com) – they use delivery partners around the world (GLS, DHL, etc.), and you’ll get an e-mail from them (once we’ve dispatched your order). Your parcel will be delivered to your home or work. Please leave us your mobile number, so a delivery partner can contact you. Please keep in mind that we only accept payments in advance, which means we don’t provide cash on delivery. We, unfortunately, cannot reroute packages once they have been despatched. Please contact the delivery partner when this occurs.
How much is shipping?
Shipping to the Czech Republic is free for orders over 2500 CZK and free for Slovakia over 150 EUR. You will see this in the checkout when completing the order. Shipping is calculated individually – by country and weight of your order.
When is my order going to be dispatched?
Orders for products in stock are usually shipped within 1–3 business days (Tuesday till Friday).
When can I expect my order?
We’ll let you know when we send it out. Standard delivery to the Czech Republic usually takes one to two days. Delivery to Slovakia can take up to four days and other countries may take about a week. If you need a tracking number, please let us know, and we will be happy to send it to you. With international shipping, we usually send the tracking number automatically to your e-mail. All days are given in working days (please, except longer delivery times before Christmas).
Do you ship worldwide?
We ship to most countries (Yes, we ship to the US). If you’re having trouble placing an order (the shipping seems too high or your country is missing), please feel free to contact us, and we will do our best to arrange to ship personally or try to find other shipping methods.
Can I update the shipping address on my order once I have paid?
The shipping address cannot be changed when the package is already in transit. Please let us know if you need to change the address immediately after you place your order. When the parcel is already in transit, please contact the final carrier in your country about the request to change your delivery address.
What should I do when I collect my parcel at the post office or from a courier, and the package is visibly damaged?
Don’t worry, here’s how we fix it. First of all, please keep in mind that external companies provide the whole shipping process. Although we always send your package in perfect condition, it may not arrive as pretty and shiny as it left us. The most important thing you can do at your end is to check whether the package is all right before you accept it. If your package is in any way damaged or opened, do not accept it and take a quick photo of it. If you do accept it, the shipping company may not consider your claims later on, because by doing so, you’re essentially agreeing with the condition of the parcel. If you don’t like what you see, don’t be afraid to say it. All our parcels are insured so they’ll be sent back to us and we’ll deal with the delivery company and inform you about what happens next.
The package looked okay, so I opened it and found out that the goods had been damaged. What now?
First of all, let us say we’re very sorry to hear that, and we’ll do our best to help you fix this ASAP! Let us know immediately and send us a picture – we’ll figure it out!
Is everything I see online always in stock?
Almost all our products in the e-shop are in stock, but unfortunately, not all of them. We design all of the products ourselves, and they’re handcrafted either by us or in small workshops, so it can sometimes take a bit longer for them to be in stock. You’ll find this information on the page of the product. If you’re interested in some of our products that aren’t in stock at the moment, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We know that waiting is tough once you set your eye on something, so we’ll do our best to speed up the process. Bear with us, please.
Personal pick up in our showroom
Once we’ve received the money and completed your order, you’ll get an e-mail. If you have any further questions or if anything is still unclear, don’t hesitate to contact us.
You can pick up your order at our showroom and studio in Prague 6. So if you’re in Prague, come say hi, we’ll be happy to see you! Please see the contact page for opening hours and the address.
Is it possible to see your products in person or try them on?
If you happen to be in Prague, there’s nothing quite like paying us a visit. You’ll have a blast trying out everything we have to offer. We genuinely enjoy getting to know our customers and making their experience memorable.
For our current opening hours, you can always check Google or head to our contact page. But if you get the chance, we’d love for you to swing by our showroom in person. It adds a personal touch to the whole experience.
We also want to do our part in saving the environment, so if it’s feasible, we encourage you to drop by our Prague showroom and pick up your order in person. Here’s a pro tip: if you know someone who’ll be in the area, you can ask them to grab your order and treat them to a coffee later.
When we ship packages, we take extra care by wrapping them in layers of paper, packing them in a sturdy box, and sending them through reliable courier services. The packages then make their way to the distribution center on the outskirts of Prague. From there, they’re loaded onto vans and delivered straight to your doorstep in Prague, often just a stone’s throw away from our showroom.
But let’s be honest, this process isn’t the most sustainable, even though it may seem simple on the surface.
If you’re not in Prague we’d be more than happy to ship your package to you. And don’t forget to check out our stockists located around the world for a convenient shopping experience closer to home.
Where can I purchase your products?
Good question, thanks! You can visit our showroom and studio in Prague, Czech Republic. We are also in selected retailers around the world. Please check our stockists here.

Returns & Exchanges
Returning the goods
Yes. The law states that when you purchase something online, you have the right to return it. Of course, we fully respect that, but we do recommend thinking twice before you buy things in our e-shop because the process of returning the goods is a bit of a waste of time for everyone involved. You don’t need to rush; take your time and let your mind settle so you do not regret your purchase.
Anyway, if that really happens, and you decide to return the goods you purchased via our e-shop, you have to do it within 30 days. You can bring it to our studio (find the address here) or send it to us. Goods must be returned in their original packaging, new, complete, undamaged, with no sign of use. Otherwise, we won’t be able to take them back. Please note that shipping is not refundable. (This means we don’t pay your shipping costs, and you’ll be refunded the price of your order minus the shipping.) Please, use our original package and wrapping papers if possible, our products are very fragile and if we receive them destroyed we, unfortunately, can’t refund you.
Please note that customized or sample items cannot be returned and refunded. Please follow the care instructions on the label on our textile. We won’t take any responsibility for damaged clothing or kitchen textile that you have incorrectly washed or stored.
After receiving your package without any damage, we refund the money to the same account used to pay for the order.
The address for returning goods is:
In August Company s.r.o.
Eliášova 31, Praha 6, 160 00

or you can use Zásilkovna:

How to claim a refund for the goods that are deficient?
If something like that happens, please let us know immediately after you unpack your order. Please send us a photo of the product showing the issue if possible. You can send us the order back with a simple claim form and a copy of the invoice, or you can bring it to our studio, and we’ll deal with it in person as fast as possible. But the most straightforward way to do it is to contact us at our e-mail address email@example.com, and we’ll deal with your issue individually.
Are your products food safe?
Yes, our products are made of food-safe materials for everyday use. Our manufacturer carries out thorough tests to ensure the clays and glazes are safe and 100% lead-free.
Is it dishwasher safe?
All of our ceramics pieces are dishwasher safe. Space them carefully, so they don’t rub or bump against each other during the washing cycle. However, having said that, we recommend washing our products by hand using a sponge and washing up liquid. This is mostly because of the chemicals in dishwasher tablets that can be very aggressive. It’s totally your call, of course, but we’d stick with hand washing just to be on the safe side.
Our stoneware is very capable of handling hot and cold temperatures. Beware when a piece is taken from one extreme to the other too quickly, it can cause the item to crack or break.
We strongly recommend to always handle our ceramics with great care, like you would care about a precious piece of art, which is actually usable.
Vases, masks, and other art objects are excluded.
Can I put it in the microwave or oven?
We discourage the use of microwave ovens with our ceramics. They will most likely survive, but may not last as long and may get damaged overtime as a result.
Can I use it on the stove?
No, our ceramic pieces are not suitable for stovetop cooking or use with an open flame.
How about the freezer?
Even though our ceramics have high thermal shock resistance, we definitely don’t recommend leaving them in the freezer for longer periods of time as it would be damaging to the material.
How do I remove food stains?
Staining can occur if acidic food is stored for too long in our stoneware. Avoid leaving foods containing strong pigments such as beetroot or turmeric for too long in our dishes, and remember to rinse quickly after use. Any stains that appear can be removed with a scouring powder, a soft cloth and warm water.
Glazed and high-fired stoneware will not likely be affected with colourful foods and spices, but the outsides of the vessels are often unglazed, so we encourage you to be careful when you work with vegetables and spices that leave colour stains. As any other natural material, it is normal for stoneware to age nicely with time, just as we see with black tea or similar food and drinks.
If I need to replace a ceramic piece, will it match the others?
Most likely, it will, but note that small variations are a natural outcome with our clays and glazes since everything is hand-made. There may be small differences in the colour, texture or finish of the pieces, but we see this as something to embrace – it is the mark of handcrafting.
Please note that even though our collections are carefully planned and thought out, it doesn’t mean, that the pieces from the same edition won’t differ slightly in shape, shade of the clay or painting style.
We make everything by hand, so our production is affected by evolving style or slight changes in materials. Each firing is a unique process, that involves a complex transformation of raw natural materials into products for use, which means that each product is an original.
