Stoneware clay

Stoneware is crafted from specialized clay that undergoes firing at temperatures of 1,200°C or higher, ensuring its resistance to liquids. This high-temperature firing process yields a more durable material with a denser, stone-like quality. Clay, a natural substance formed by weathered rock, is soft and malleable but can be permanently hardened through high-temperature baking, making it well-suited for creating tableware and similar items. The stoneware clay we use is sourced from the Czech Republic and occasionally from Germany. Our stoneware is fired in an electric kiln at 1250°C and in a gas kiln at 1350°C.
