Product Care Guide

Wood care

Always hand-wash your wooden essentials. Never place a wooden board or other wooden items (such as cooking spoons) in the dishwasher or submerge them in a sink full of water, as they may warp or crack. Occasionally, apply a food-safe oil that does not become rancid to prevent drying out. If you notice that your wooden board, spoon, or knife has become rough, possibly from excessive water exposure, you can restore them by sanding and oiling to regain their original appearance.

Care of wooden cutting boards

If there’s one item you can never have too many of in your kitchen, it’s a chopping board. A wooden chopping board will endure for years with proper care. Here’s how to care for it. To prolong the lifespan of your chopping board and prevent it from drying out and developing cracks, regularly treat it with food-safe oil that is not prone to becoming rancid. Use a clean cloth to apply the oil in a uniform layer, working in the direction of the grain. Allow the oil to soak in for a while, then remove any excess oil with a dry cloth or a kitchen towel. There is no fixed schedule for oiling chopping boards, similar to how there is no fixed schedule for watering your houseplants. It depends on how frequently you use it, how you store it, and the type of wood. Starting with once a month is a good guideline, but there is no harm in oiling the wood whenever it appears to need it. Please refrain from placing the chopping board in the dishwasher or leaving it to soak in the sink. Wood is porous, and a wooden chopping board may retain food odours. You can rub the board with salt and lemon to eliminate any unwanted smells.

Ceramics Care

We strongly recommend always handling our ceramics with great care, as you would care about a precious piece of art which is actually usable.

All of our ceramics are dishwasher safe and can be washedin the dishwasher daily. To ensure our dishes last longer, try to position the dishes to not rub against each other during the washing cycle. If you hand wash your ceramic pieces, please use a soft scrub brush and dish soap, and avoid metal sponges. Please be aware that any ceramics is a rough material and can leave marks if you move it over a fragile surface (a wooden table, for example).

Avoid leaving foods containing strong pigments such as beetroot or turmeric for too long in our dishes, and rinse quickly after use. Any stains that appear can be removed with a scouring powder, a soft cloth and warm water. Our stoneware is very capable of handling hot and cold temperatures. Beware when a piece is taken from one extreme to the other too quickly, it can cause the item to crack or break. We discourage the use of microwave ovens with our ceramics. They will most likely survive but may not last as long and may get damaged over time as a result.

Care of Organic Cotton Products

We recommend washing our Tees and Sweatshirts inside out with similar colours in lukewarm water at 30°C, using a gentle cycle and eco-friendly detergents. Always hang dry, do not tumble dry. If necessary, iron on medium heat inside out. If you need to remove stains, we recommend to apply a small amount of natural bile soap onto the dirty spots before putting into washing machine.

We recommend storing our clothes in a cool and ventilated closet. The best way to keep your clothes fresh in your closet is to soak some cotton balls in a few drops of your favourite essential oil. You can also use some dried fragrance-infused flowers or herbs – the fragrance combinations are endless. You can put the dried herbs in a small mesh bag and hang it in the closet. You can also try using lavender or soap cut into small pieces and distribute it around the shelves.

Our clothes are certified by one of the strictest authority in the field of textiles: the Global Organic Textile Standard. This certification guarantees that our cotton is organically grown without using genetically modified seeds or any harmful chemical products such as pesticides which are dangerous for the environment and health. Basically, you can be sure that our materials meet the highest environmental and ethical standards.
