Kurinuki is a Japanese technique of carving vessels from a block of clay, giving each piece a sculptural and organic shape. Karolína has always enjoyed working with this method, creating cups that are each unique.
Because no two cups could ever be the same, it wasn’t possible to offer them in our online shop. We looked for a way to bring this technique into a form we could share more widely, so we created a mold inspired by its carved shapes – allowing us to keep the size and form consistent, while preserving the sculptural character of the technique.
Perfectly sized for a shot of espresso or a small filter coffee. Glazed or hand-painted by Karolína, high-fired in an electric kiln.
Each piece is made of food-safe materials for everyday use.
