Our Moon Face edition began with a call from outer space. It started as a collection of mugs in 2021 and gradually expanded to include other items, such as linen pillows, tea towels, and canvas bags.

The ceramic Moon Faces Mug collection was created with a clear vision, but it took us some time to bring it to life due to the complexity of crafting the moons themselves. The mugs are hand-thrown from speckled stoneware clay and high-fired in an electric kiln. Some have large handles, while others do not. The moons are hand-painted by Karolína with colored clay slips on the mugs before the second firing and then engraved by hand, which makes each piece unique and a slow process. The Moon mugs are glazed only on the inside.

While we now produce the original Moon mugs only occasionally in very limited editions, the motifs from this collection continue to inspire us. These motifs have been revisited and reinterpreted in other pieces, including our Sunfolk collection.
